little Happy Meeting - v. 15

Don't You (Forget About Me)

I bid you adieu for a week or two

We have a culture of overwork. We often make ourselves available 24/7, but it’s not good for our mental or physical health (it makes it difficult to detach during nonwork hours). Over the next few weeks, make it a priority to build in time for yourself. You don’t have to stop working or fulfilling your obligations, but there is almost always a way to drop a thing or two. So take inventory — do what you need to do and drop what you don’t (and for the love of Judy, take a break). I’m not talking about just your once-a-year vacation — microbreaks are also needed. You’ll find that by taking even just a few you’ll be more productive, happier, healthier, and creative. You might even thank me for the reminder:)

In the spirit of this edition of the little Happy Newsletter, I shall take a few weeks off to practice what I preach. This week’s challenge is to give yourself permission to take breaks (whether it’s a minute, an hour, a day, or a week).
